Mission
As an Ethnic Studies school, we center the cultural wealth of each member of our community and cultivate a school culture where kindness leads our actions, empathy guides our hearts, integrity shapes our decisions, and continual growth builds our confidence.

Goals & School Improvement Plan
Academic Gap Goal
By June 2026, reduce the percentage of low-incoming students performing in the “Well Below” (red) category from 30% to 20%, narrowing the schoolwide gap with non-low-income peers from 9% to 4%. This will be achieved through targeted small-group instruction, consistent progress monitoring, and equitable access to learning supports across all grades.
Behavioral or Social-Emotional Learning Gap Goal
By May 2026, reduce office referrals by 30% as compared to the previous school year's baseline, through implementation of Tier 1 strategies, weekly targeted SEL instruction, and targeted Tier 2 and 3 interventions for identified students. Strategies will be developed with staff input to ensure they are culturally responsive and inclusive.

Meadows values the strong support of our families, alumni, and community. Volunteer opportunities include mentoring, tutoring, participating in events and field trips, helping in the classroom, and more.
Building History
Meadows Elementary was built in 1986 on 11 acres. It is located at 836 Deerbrush Drive SE in Lacey. The 46,744 square foot building includes 33 instructional spaces, plus 9 portable classrooms and an 8-classroom modular building.
- In 1996, the entire school was re-roofed.
- In 2000, partial upgrades were made to the heating system.
- In 2022, Meadows received a new roof and new heating boilers.
- This school is currently eligible for a state-assisted modernization/addition.
