Meet Our Leadership
From Principal DeAguiar
Welcome to Meadows Elementary, home of the Mighty Mustangs. I am Angie DeAguiar, principal here at Meadows Elementary. I would like to share a little about who I am. My son, my grandson, and my very energetic dog make my heart happy. They bring such joy to my life, and I am thankful for them each day. Being able to spend time with my family and friends is very important to me. I value my time with the people who have touched my life over the years. I love football (Go Hawks), pickleball, and spending time outdoors. I am very adventurous. It’s not unlikely to see me snowshoeing, downhill skiing, climbing mountains, or playing at the beach. Some of my most peaceful moments have been taking runs on the beach with my dog, hiking in the mountains, or playing with my grandson.
I am in my 30th year of education, nearly all of which has been at North Thurston Public Schools. I’ve taught P.E. as well as Kindergarten through 4th grade, and am honored to say this is my 13th year as principal at Meadows Elementary. In a typical school year, I find joy spending time in classrooms, on the playground, and throughout the halls of Meadows, getting to know the students. Watching them explore and grow both academically and socially fills my soul with pride.
I am proud and honored to work with such a remarkable staff here at Meadows. Their dedication, creativity, and unwavering commitment to each child’s success are truly inspiring. They go above and beyond to create engaging and supportive learning environments, ensuring that every student feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential. We are fortunate to have such a talented and caring team of educators at Meadows.
We believe that students, staff, and parents are all part of this school community. Our commitment to creating a culturally responsive and inclusive environment for all our students, families, and staff is our focus. We believe that every child deserves to learn in a setting where their diverse backgrounds, cultures, and identities are recognized and celebrated throughout our school community. We are dedicated to ensuring that our curriculum, activities, and interactions reflect and respect the rich tapestry of cultures represented in our school. Meadows Elementary is a place where our classrooms are filled with students actively engaged in exciting learning activities. Staff, teachers, paraeducators, and parents work and learn together to ensure our school community provides the best possible learning environment for our students.
Our students here at Meadows are truly amazing young people, and giving them an opportunity to shine is exactly what we want to do. Here at Meadows, we believe and strive to ensure that everyone has equitable access and opportunities to reach their potential. We value all perspectives and voices. We are committed to building an inclusive and welcoming environment for people of all backgrounds in our school community.
It's an honor to be a part of the North Thurston Public Schools, where staff throughout the district work hard to ensure all students feel valued, see themselves represented in their school communities, and have the best opportunity to experience success.
Thank you for being such an important part of our school community. As always, don’t hesitate to stop by and say hello.

From Assistant Principal Jones
It is an honor to join Meadows Elementary as your Assistant Principal. My experience as both a teacher in our district and an assistant principal in various NTPS schools has shaped my belief that every student can thrive when provided with equitable opportunities, high-quality instruction, and a supportive school environment.
As a school leader, my vision is to foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and inclusivity—where students, staff, and families work together to achieve shared goals. I am committed to supporting educators, empowering students to reach their full potential, and strengthening partnerships with families and the broader community. Together, we will uphold our theme of “Expect Great Things” and inspire every student to aim high and achieve their best.
I am continually inspired by the dedication of our staff and the resilience of our students. Outside of school, I am the proud parent of two college students (Go Huskies!) and enjoy reading, gardening, and spending time outdoors. Our family also enjoys watching baseball and cheering for the Seattle Mariners and Los Angeles Dodgers!
I look forward to leading alongside you this school year, ensuring that Meadows continues to be a place where all students feel valued, challenged, and supported. Go Mustangs!
